EDITORIAL: ORANGE CULTURE PRESENTS "DOVETAIL"- THE RESORT 2015 COLLECTION.

One of Nigeria’s most fashion-forward menswear designers, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, has unveiled the lookbook for his label–Orange Culture’s resort 2015 collection. Titled “Dovetail,” the collection features oversized tunics, wrap skirts, loose roped pants, sheer shirts, as well as some new shapes that continue to push the boundaries on traditional African menswear.
The collection was being presented to VOGUE editors and other major fashion industry personnel at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy.
According to the designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal, the collection is inspired by staircases in Nigeria. He says, “The imperfection of staircases in Lagos Nigeria doesn’t necessarily take away from its beauty as the imperfect lines, joints and dimensions make each step an exciting adventure, a step into an airy discovery. These staircases have a rustic appearance that reinterprets the natural structure of wood and inspired the prints developed for the collection.”
